After rolling back from an SCZ8.1.0 or ECZ8.1.0 software release to an older version, one may experience the following login failure error when attempting to log into the system via the serial console or remote SSH/SFTP services:


no suitable hash algorithm (23?)
unable to hash password
% Login failed


Local "user" and "admin" accounts are unable to log into the system, though reverting back to SCZ8.1.0 or ECZ8.1.0 will results in successful logins without the error message.


System was previously running SCZ8.1.0 or ECZ8.1.0 and a the local user or admin account password was changed or reset while running that newer software release.
