To apply Kernel packages after April, 2023, and non-Kernel security updates for Oracle Linux 6 via ULN-yum channels, customers will need Extended Support.
This is due to the fact Oracle Linux 6 has reached its end of premier support in March 2021.
For full details refer to: Exalytics: Oracle Linux 6 Lifetime Support Policy on Exalytics (Doc ID 2810606.1).
As discussed in (Doc ID 2810606.1), Exalytics customers should work with their Hardware Support Renewal Team to place an order for Extended Support for Operating Systems. (If needed Oracle Account Manager or Oracle Sales contact can be involved.)
Once customers obtain the Extended Support CSI number, register the Exalytics hosts/systems with ULN by following the below document:
If necessary remove any old, unused Kernels before installing the new Kernel.
