Purpose

This document provides a customer accessible utility to gather nvdtool data from the FS1-2 Storage System.  

Scope

This is a Windows based utility that only works in 64-bit mode.  It will gather general information about an FS1-2 Flash Storage System and important Controller data, specifically the Energy Storage Modules (ESMs) and Non-Volatile Dual Inline Memory Modules (NVDIMMs). 

The results will be written into a text file.  If no output filename is provided, it will default to FS_nvdtool_<FS1-2_Serial#>_YYYY-MM-DDTHH_MM_SS.txt.

The utility requires ports 22 and 8085 to be open for ssh and REST interfaces.  Refer to KM Document 2020039.1 FS System: Open Ports Required on the Pilot for more details.
