Changes to /etc/system may not be complete without updating boot_archive
(Doc ID 2477027.1)
Last updated on JUNE 25, 2024
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11 11/11 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
When a change to /etc/system is needed, a system reboot is often required. This reboot updates the boot_archive and activates the new tunable. If the system hangs, is halted, or a break issued before the reboot, the boot_archive is not updated and the new tunable is not active upon boot.
