ASM Device Minor Numbers Changed After Rebooting. (Doc ID 2500377.1)

Symptoms

There are several SRs filed about ASM major/minor numbers changing after a reboot.

These 2 customer reported instances describes what changes can occur:

1. In this instance the server was updated 11.3 SRU 35.6 and after reboot, some of the major and minor numbers changed to 0 and 0.

Before patching:

So the minor numbers were changed:

for c0t60060E8xxxxxxx00502034E700000072d0s0 from 440 to 456
for c0t60060E8xxxxxxx00502034E700000073d0s0 from 456 to 448
for c0t60060E8xxxxxxx00502034E700000074d0s0 from 488 to 440

Changes

 The problem normally occurs after Solaris reboot.
