Last updated on JUNE 27, 2024

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek Auto Cartridge Sys Lib SW (ACSLS) - Version 8.5 to 8.5 [Release 8.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
ACSLS 8.5 adds an additional group and userid over those used in prior releases.
ACSLS user accounts must be created prior to installation of ACSLS 8.5

Goal

ACSLS 8.5 adds an additional group and userid over those used in prior releases.   In addition to the acsls group and acsss, acssa, and acsdb user accounts required by pre-8.5 releases of ACSLS, ACSLS 8.5 also requires that group postgres and userid postgres be created.

Besides requiring a new group and userid, the ACSLS 8.5 pkg_install.sh script no longer automatically adds the required groups and userids.  This must be done manually before the ACSLS pkg_install.sh script is executed.

The following procedure can be used as a checklist to ensure that you have correctly setup your ACSLS 8.5 required groups and userids before you execute the ACSLS 8.5 installation pkg_install.sh script.
