Very Slow - or Non-Existent - Performance for a qlcnic with Solaris 11 (Doc ID 2511950.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2019

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 11 11/11 to 11.3 [Release 11.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Extremely slow performance - with NFS READS, and other incoming data flows - when using a qlcnic device.

Packet captures reveal the external sender is re-transmitting TCP packets at a very high rate.

Meanwhile, the receiving Solaris host is recording tcpInErrs per netstat -s , and ip:0:ip:inErrs per kstat data (these both record the same thing) - indicating invalid TCP packets are being received.

The qlcnic statistics however indicate no issues - no packet quality (checksum or frame length) issues.
