Oracle HSM (SAMFS) - Issue With FTP (proftp) From Remote Clients Staging Offline Files / 0 KB in Size (Doc ID 2519900.1)

Symptoms

O-HSM 6.1.45 running on Solaris 11.3, having an issue ftp'ing "offline" files from clients (unix, linux, and windows).

If the offline copy is on tape, the ftp will complete successfully, however the file is 0KB.

File size is irrelevant, if the file is "offline" and the primary copy is on tape, then the ftp will result in a 0KB file.

This issue is observed when the UseSendfile parameter in the proftp.conf file is set to "off".
