Creating a new Storage Account in SMU looks successful, but testing the storage account fails

Symptoms

When Testing a new Storage Account in the SMU browser interface, the following error is seen:

Connection to storage 'zfs-storage-array' failed
storage zfs-storage-hostname2 login: java.net.UnknownHostnameException: zfs-storage-hostname2 failed

In this case, zfs-storage-array is the name of the Storage account created, and zfs-storage-hostname2 is the name of one of the heads of the zfs cluster.
