The SL8500 is not send error message to HSC when the PTP stay inoperative. (Doc ID 2523473.1)

Symptoms

The SL8500 is not sending message error to HSC that the PTP is inoperative.

The customer is finding out that the PTP is inoperative only  when send command of "#Display eXception". Sometime only a week after the issue occurred.

 In this case, we saw that the PTP stood inoperative after to pass a cartridge to another library with success. The cartridge didn't stay stuck.
