Symptoms

(TEST CASE with netcat utility))

 -- Server/listener
root@server:~# netcat -l 2222 #start a listener on port 2222 and netcat output is received
hello
test
root@server:~# netcat -l 1521 #start a listener on port 1521 and netcat output is NOT received

 - Client
root@client:~# netcat server.test.com 2222
hello
test
^C
root@aether:~# netcat server.test.com 1521
hello


TCP Port 1521 is the port that oracle database uses and this is impacting production
