Purpose

Oracle recently published significant changes to the release, update, and licensing models for Java SE 8.

This document is a response to these announcements, and is intended to clarify the right to use and support entitlements for Oracle Java Platform Standard Edition (SE) 8 as needed for use with Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) products.

Scope

Oracle Secure Global Desktop includes both client, and server based components built with Java technologies impacted by this announcement.  This document is intended to address Java support & entitlement questions for SGD Administrators, as well as the end-users of supported SGD deployments.
