An NFS server does not allow files to be locked over NFSv3 - after an upgrade to Solaris 22.214.171.124.
Inspecting lock NLM (Network Lock Manager) lock requests via a packet capture reveals that the NFS server simply ignored NLM LOCK requests. The TCP stack ACKs the request, but no response is sent.
The NFS sever was upgraded to Solaris 126.96.36.199.0 - or later, but to a release prior to 188.8.131.52.0.
