Last updated on JULY 16, 2019

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 11.4 to 11.4 [Release 11.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An NFS server does not allow files to be locked over NFSv3 - after an upgrade to Solaris 114.4.4.0.

Inspecting lock NLM (Network Lock Manager) lock requests via a packet capture reveals that the NFS server simply ignored NLM LOCK requests.  The TCP stack ACKs the request, but no response is sent.

Changes

The NFS sever was upgraded to Solaris 11.4.4.4.0  - or later, but to a release prior to 11.4.10.3.0.
