SGD Gateway Incorrectly Reports "Accepting standard connections" after Upgrade (Doc ID 2571399.1)

Last updated on JUNE 18, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.4 to 5.4 [Release 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading a production Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Gateway deployment from 5.2 to 5.4, the SGD Administrator observed that the gateway status command reported that the SGD Gateway was no longer "Accepting secure connections," instead reporting "Accepting standard connections."

For demonstration purposes:

Preliminary review and verification of the SGD Gateway configuration does suggest that the component is configured correctly.  Further, it is clear that connections established through the gateway are using SSL.

Changes

In this environment, the SGD Gateway had been recently upgraded from SGD 5.2 to 5.4.   This behavior, however, may be seen on any 5.4 SGD Gateway node that has not yet been patched to the July 2019 PSU level, or later.
