APPLICATION BUTTON TO SWITCH BACK DOES NOT WORK IN IE 11 + HTML5 + SGD 5.4

Symptoms
The 'application' button to switch back does not work in IE 11 + HTML5 client + SGD 5.4.
The steps to reproduce are as below:
Client: Windows 7 + IE 11
Steps:
1. Launch SGD webtop using IE11 browser using below HTML5 URL
https://<SGD-FQDN>/sgd/index.jsp?clientmode=browser
2.Select any of the controls for ex. clipboard from drop down
toolbar(EX:Clipboard,diagnostic,settings)
3.click on "Application" button to switch back.
--> It does not work and cannot work on the application as the application window is covered by the menu(ex: settings)
The problem does not happen on Firefox or Chrome.
