Information in this document applies to any platform.
Beginning with ACSLS 8.5, the ACSLS server can be installed on a feature card directly attached to the SL4000 library. This option provides a fully functional Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.8 environment with ACSLS installed in a secure RAID-1 file system.
The SL4000 Feature Card is a FRU. It is on the restricted price list and will be reviewed by Oracle Engineering, Product Management, and Service, on a case by case basis, for approval to install. Use the ACSLS team alias in the 'Contacts' section below.
ACSLS 8.5 will only control the library within which the feature card is installed. It is not to be used to manage other libraries in addition.
Not all customers’ current or planned Tape Storage environments may be able to use the Feature Card. Accordingly we are asking that customers who are interested in using the feature card to work with Oracle support beforehand, to ensure that the customer is a best match to the solution.
Depending on where you store your ACSLS diagnostic bundles, you may run out of disk space in the root partition on the feature card.
