End-Users Unable to Access Secure Global Desktop through Force Point Proxy
(Doc ID 2614590.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.4 and later Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrators received word that users at a specific customer site were unable to successfully connect through a Force Point proxy to a known-healthy SGD deployment after authentication. Impacted users found that they were able to successfully connect in subsequent login attempts from alternate locations, where traffic was not filtered by the site's Force Point proxy.
In this scenario, the Secure Global Desktop deployment had been configured to bind to port 443 on the host using the product's legacy "Firewall Forwarding" feature.
Additional details regarding the Firewall Forwarding feature can be found in Section 1.5.2.2. of the Administration Guide published within the SGD 5.4 documentation library. This deprecated functionality was formally removed from the product in the subsequent 5.5 release.
