HSM: samu 'n' Display Core Dumps (Doc ID 2631688.1)

Last updated on JULY 08, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Hierarchical Storage Manager (HSM) and StorageTek QFS Software - Version 5.1 to 6.1 [Release 5.0 to 6.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When displaying staging activity, either using the 'n' display within the 'samu' operator utility or using the 'samcmd n' from the command line, a core dump can occur.

The problem usually occurs when there is a significant staging workload and trying to display that activity.

However, it does not negatively affect staging activity.  All staging requests still complete as expected.

Changes

Introduced in HSM 5.1.4
