HSM: Archiving Stops With sam-arfind Process Exiting (Doc ID 2659423.1)

Symptoms

Archiver has files queued up but archiving gets reset. Sometimes the system will recover, scan and discover the files again.  But sometimes it sits idle until the archiver is manually restarted.

The /var/opt/SUNWsamfs/trace/sam-archiverd trace file shows the following SEGV (exit code 008b) error:
