Symptoms

HSM filesystems based on NVMe SSD disk drives using the 'blkdev' device driver have various issues reading/writing to the disk causing archiving to fail.

 ReadIOV errors seen when attempting to read filesystem data for archiving:

 

Changes

 The customer had a NVMe SSD disk installed in their server previously but not used for HSM until recently. Once the customer configured the NVMe SSD disk for a filesystem for HSM, the customer noticed erratic errors on the filesystem.
