After Upgrading Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 With solaris Branded Zones the Zones Are Unable to Attach or Start (Doc ID 2734382.1)

Symptoms

 

After upgrading the OS and or Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 with solaris branded zones the zones are unable to attach or start.


When following the instructions in the upgrade guide the resource group is suspended and the zone is manually attached after rebooting.

How to Update a solaris Branded Failover Zone




If the zoneadm attach messages were lost or the resource group was not suspended the attach log can be found in /var/log/zones.  The log file format is zoneadm.timestame.<zonename>.attach.

Changes

 Upgrading the OS and or Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 wither either 'scinstall -u' or 'pkg update'.
