Changes
With the release of Appliance Kit (AK) OS 8.8.22 Oracle included a new diagnostic service, the SES Enclosure Diagnostic Engine (SES DE) to proactively detect an array of potential problems with disk shelves, SAS cabling and HBA PCIe cards.
Starting in AK OS 8.8.63 we now support mixed chains of DE3-12C and DE3-24C and/or DE3-24P disk shelves.
- We apply rules of top to top and bottom to bottom for mixed JBOD connection in the chain so cabling should be
- DE3-12C IOM-A (top) to DE3-24x IOM1
- DE3-12C IOM-B (bottom) to DE3-24x IOM0
See Bug 35325065 - Document or adjust SAS cabling rules for DE3-12C and DE3-24x on the same chain
Earlier AK would complain IOMA connected to IOM1, new AK now complains about the opposite.
IMPORTANT: To avoid the issue upgrade to OS8.8.63 or higher before inter-mixing DE3-12C & DE3-24 tray's along with the actual new cabling of mixed tray's.
