Changes to File Descriptor Limits in Solaris 11.4.27.82.1 (and higher) (Doc ID 2736930.1)

Symptoms

In Solaris 11.4.27.82.1 (and higher), setting the maximum number of file descriptors to 65536 fails with "Insufficient privileges."


For example, using the ksh(1) shell:


Setting the file descriptor limit to 65536 in user initialization files (.profile, .kshrc, .login, etc) also fails.

Changes

 System was updated from Solaris 11.4.26.75.4 (or lower) to Solaris 11.4.27.82.1 (or higher).
