Commands Hang In LDom Using vHBA After Provisioning Of Storage
(Doc ID 2746823.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2022
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11.3 to 11.4 [Release 11.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Commands like format, mpathadm, and prtconf hang after provisioning of storage to a LDom running on a SPARC platform using vSAN/vHBA with NPIV ports created from Oracle branded Fibre Channel HBAs. Logical Domains Manager ldm commands that depend on a response from the LDom may also hang.
Changes
Provisioning of storage triggers a race condition during vHBA path discovery. The race condition is more likely to occur when a large number of LUNs are configured.
