Symptoms

After upgrading the ZFS Storage Appliance (ZFSSA) to version 8.8.30, clients may have problems mounting to shares on the ZFSSA.

Mount command with NFSv4 fails with error:

If using mount option retries=xxx the mount command may keep retrying and appear to hang.

If a client is mounted to a share on the ZFSSA and the resources switch due to a failback, takeover, or reboot, the client could get Stale NFS Handle or just hang.

A snoop taken on the ZFSSA if the mount command is hung/retrying would show NFS4ERR_SERVERFAULT for NFSv4 and NFS3ERR_STALE on NFSv3
