To explain the impact on the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance resulting from the end of Premier Support for standalone offering of Oracle VM 3 in March 2021.

Actions

Oracle Private Cloud appliance is an Engineered System which incorporates both hardware and software components.  As an Engineered System, Oracle Premier Support for Systems will be available for five years from the last ship date of the system.  Lifecycle changes for standalone offerings of the underlying components incorporated into the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance engineered system do not impact the availability of Premier Support unless explicitly stated in "Oracle Hardware and Systems Support Policies" (see http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/hardware-systems-support-policies-069182.pdf).

Oracle VM 3 is an underlying component of the Engineered System and not a standalone software installation. Any changes to its support policy as a standalone offering does not affect the availability of premier support for the PCA Engineered System. Thus customers do not need to buy separate Oracle VM Support for Engineered Systems

Hence, in accordance with "Oracle Hardware and Systems Support Policies", Premier Support for Systems will continue to be available for the Private Cloud Appliance through the period described in the document.
