SGD 5.60.522: Unable To Launch KDE Or Gnome On OL6 Application Server
(Doc ID 2761821.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
On premises Secure Global Desktop (SGD) 5.60.522 servers can launch both xterm and KDE/Gnome on Oracle Linux 6 (OL6) application servers as expected. However, with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) SGD 5.60.522 servers the KDE/Gnome desktop is never displayed, although both the connection progress details and the session status indicator in the left-hand pane of the workspace indicate that the session was launched. Xterm can launch xterm as expected on OL6 from OCI SGD servers, and KDE can launch by running 'startkde' from an xterm session. Only trying to launch KDE directly via SGD fails.
KDE can also launch successfully from an on premises SGD server connecting to one of the OCI OL6 VMs where launch fails from OCI SGD. There is no known difference in SGD configuration between the on-prem 5.60.522 servers and the OCI 5.60.522 servers.
