Crash on standby SBC during in-service upgrade to SCZ840 (Doc ID 2780211.1)

Last updated on MAY 28, 2021

Applies to:

Acme Packet 4600 - Version S-Cz8.4.0 to S-Cz8.4.0 [Release S-Cz8.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Standby SBC crashes during in-service upgrades.
A crash will occur on the newly upgraded SCZ840 device which would be in a Standby state at the time of crash.
This will result in the upgrade failing as you will not be able to make the SCZ840 upgraded system active. As soon as box comes up as standby crash occurs due to a call replication issue from the Active 830 box.

Problem occurs during upgrades being performed in an HA upgrade scenario when upgrading FROM and TO any of the release noted below:

Upgrading FROM Releases: SCZ830m1p10, SCZ830m1p10A, SCZ830m1p10B, SCZ830m1p11, SCZ830m1p12, SCZ830m1p12A
Upgrading TO Releases: SCZ840p4, SCZ840p4A, SCZ840p4B, SCZ840p5, SCZ840p5A, SCZ840p5B

Note that this will apply to any SCZ830 release including and after SCZ830m1p10. The ones listed are the most recent. This will apply to releases after SCZ830m1p12A as well.
