Oracle SuperCluster Fails to Boot from ZFS Storage Appliance ISCSIT LUN with "WARNING: iscsi driver unable to online <IQN>" when ISCSIT ALUA is Disabled (Doc ID 2785544.1)

Symptoms

We will use the table below throughout this document to  define the iSCSI initiator, target and iSCSI Qualified Name(IQN)

  • iqn.1986-03.com.sun:02:xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
  • iSCSI Target Mode is: iSCSIt or iSCSIT
  • The target IP address: <Target_IP>
  • The initiator IP address: <InitiatorIP>
  • iSCSI Qualified Name: <IQN>

 The following console messages show up during the SuperCluster boot sequence, and shows the iSCSI driver failing to discover and online the misconfigured iSCSI LUN:
