Goal
The first time that a new LTO9 tape cartridge is loaded into an IBM LTO9 tape drive it requires Optimization to be done on that new tape cartridge.
This LTO9 tape cartridge Optimization can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to complete.
Once the Optimization occurs on the new tape the Optimization details will be saved in the Cartridge Memory chip in that tape so that Optimization will never be required again on that tape cartridge.
