Solaris 11.3 server won't boot - hangs while Veritas 'vxio' modules are loading (Doc ID 2811039.1)

Symptoms


Customer had a Veritas cluster running Solaris version 11.3 with Veritas 7.1/

While trying to upgrade the system would hang loading vxio modules.
