Live migration of a kernel zone fails after upgrading from Solaris 11.3 to Solaris 11.4. (Doc ID 2853258.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 19, 2023

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 11.4 to 11.4 [Release 11.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Cold migration between both global zones are possible.
A global zone was updated from Solaris 11.3 to 11.4.26.75.4.
With a global zone named GZ02 running Solaris 11.4 and a global zone named GZ01 running Solaris 11.3, warm migration was possible.
Warm migration only worked from Solaris 11.3 to 11.4 and not the reverse.
When both global zones are updated to Solaris 11.4, no warm migration is possible.

Example with both global zones running Solaris 11.4:

   zonemig@GZ01:~ $ zoneadm -z zone05 migrate ssh://GZ02
   zoneadm: zone 'zone05': connection failed:
couldn't connect to remote host GZ02.
   Is RAD service svc:/system/rad:local running?
