STA - Drive Calibration Media Has 0.0 Wraps of Data
(Doc ID 2853769.1)
Last updated on JULY 11, 2022
Applies to:
StorageTek Tape Analytics - Version 2.4 to 2.4 [Release 2.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
New tapes were added to the calibration logical group.
After standard verify validation tests were run on each tape, the "Calibration Information for LTO Media" screen showed:
...
MV Calibration Number of Wraps: 0
MV Calibration Current State: Not Suitable
MV Calibration Status Information: Not Suitable. Media has 0.0 wraps of data. It must have a
Minimum of 2 wraps for Drive Qualification Media.
The tapes were new and has no data on them. Because calibration requires a minimum of 2 wraps of data, 490,237 MB of data were then written on the tapes.
When the standard verify validation tests were run on a tape again, the "Calibration Information for LTO Media" screen showed:
MV Calibration Number of Wraps: 0
MV Calibration Current State: Not Suitable
MV Calibration Status Information: Not Suitable. Media has 0.0 wraps of data. It must have a
Minimum of 2 wraps for Drive Qualification Media.
The tape in the calibration logical group was rejected as not suitable for calibration even with 9 wraps of data on it.
.
The calculation for the number of wraps of data appears to be incorrect.
Note:
See the user guide link below on how much is needed to get to 2 wraps of data per media type:
