archiveadm create command fails with "Error occurred during execution of 'TargetDiscovery' checkpoint." (Doc ID 2858580.1)

Symptoms

Checking the archive log file shows:

Further checks to confirm the cause:

  1. Verify EMC Powerpath is in use.

     # pkg_info -l
