HSM: MEDIA ERRORs On All Tapes, Tape Multipathing Shown (Doc ID 2870305.1)

Symptoms

Tapes Status has been set to "MEDIA ERROR“ for all tapes provided to SAMFS.

The device log for the tape library shows the following errors:

 

The output above showed that the tape subsystem was using multipathing.  We confirmed that "mpxio-disable="no" was uncommented in /kernel/drv/fp.conf, which means I/O multipathing is on for disk, as desired, but also set for tape.
