Symptoms

Panic assertion failed due to invalid buffer flag cloned by VERITAS vxdmp`gendmpstrategy().

 

Changes

The assertion failure was introduced in Oracle Solaris 11.4.8.5.0 as part the changeset to support PSARC/2017/230 Force Detach.

The assertion failure will only be encountered if booted into a debug kernel or the io:::start dtrace probe is enabled.
