High CPU Utilization In Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Gateway Servers (Doc ID 2898118.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On gateway servers the CPU utilization is seen increasing up to 90% during business hours.  Usage seems to increase rather linearly with number of users.  Gateway CPU usage is normally quite low regardless of changes in the number of active users.

The Linux utility, top, will show that the processes consuming the most CPU are owned by the sgdgsys user.

Changes

Possibly more network devices have been placed between the client (end user) and the SGD Gateway.
