Symptoms
Attempting to boot zones fail with error:
# zoneadm -z <zone> boot
Unrecoverable internal error:
fail_internal[171]:
fatal[110]:
get_current_gzbe[2207]:
get_active_be[145]:
mount_active_be[2251]:
/usr/lib/brand/solaris/prestate[39]:
ERROR: fatal (unable to determine global zone boot environment.) called with undefined $EXIT_CODE
zoneadm: zone <zone>: call to zoneadmd(8) failed: zoneadmd(8) returned an error 9 (zone state change failed)
The /var/log/zones/<zone>.messages file will also mention:
su: Shell not executable
