Symptoms

NOTE: This issue may present itself on standalone systems with the Aspen or Vail HBAs, but is far more common on Oracle Exadata Systems. 

 

The system will report a CacheVault failure.

Since these systems carry a super capacitor (supercap), the BBU output won't display properly, or will show failure message:

The correct command to run is # /opt/MegaRAID/storcli/storcli64 /c0/cv show all (see below for sample output)
