Symptoms

This issue can occur on both SPARC and x86 platforms running Oracle Solaris 11.4.54.138.1 thru 11.4.60.151.2 with Veritas InfoScale VxVM installed.

A disk is falsely reported to be in use as part of a VxVM volume during an attempt to format the disk.

 

Changes

This additional layer of protection was introduced in Oracle Solaris 11.4.54.138.1 by:

PSARC/2022/091 libdiskmgt support for legacy volume managers
BUG 34316663 - 64-bit utilities can not detect devices used by vxvm
