Oracle Solaris 11.4 Disk Management Library Function inuse_vxvm() Falsely Reports A Disk Is Part Of A VxVM Volume (Doc ID 2941774.1)

This issue can occur on both SPARC and x86 platforms running Oracle Solaris (or greater) with Veritas InfoScale VxVM installed.

A disk is falsely reported to be in use as part of a VxVM volume during an attempt to format the disk.



This additional layer of protection was introduced in Oracle Solaris by:

PSARC/2022/091 libdiskmgt support for legacy volume managers
BUG 34316663 - 64-bit utilities can not detect devices used by vxvm
