Deployment of Oracle Software (19c Grid Infrastructure and Database) on SuperCluster (Doc ID 2991294.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition
Oracle SuperCluster M8 Hardware - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 Full Rack - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 Half Rack - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Oracle SuperCluster M6-32 Hardware - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Purpose

As of the June 2023 release of Oracle Exadata Database Assistant (OEDA), the graphical UI (configuration) component is no longer supported on Solaris. Therefore you can no longer create OEDA configuration files for SuperCluster as described in the Oracle SuperCluster M8 and SuperCluster M7 Zones With Oracle Database on Database Domains Configuration Guide.

This document describes how to create OEDA configuration files for SuperCluster using the May 2023 release of OEDA and then modify them for deployment using the latest release of OEDA.

Note that you can continue to use the May 2023 release of OEDA to create configuration files and deploy databases, but the highest version they can be installed with is 19.19.0.0.230418 (April 2023 Release Update). Meaning, you will have to manually patch the grid and database homes to the latest versions after the deployment is complete.

Scope

The instructions below outline the current approach to using OEDA for installing Database 19c releases.

Note:  The instructions included here are only applicable to the deployment of Oracle Database 19c releases
