Symptoms
X11 forwarding may not work if the loopback IPv6 interface is missing and will return Error: Can't open display: when trying to run X Applications
NOTE : This Document doesn't attempt to check other settings involved (the client that connects to the Server must also have capabilities to receive the DATA forwarded by X11 - a local X Server )
A quick overview on how X11 Forwarding works : x-application connects to address in DISPLAY -> ssh server port forwards it -> ssh client forwards it to local X server -> the X server displays that.
Also, there maybe other reasons for which the Error: Can't open display: is returned. This Document doesn't attempt to cover all the cases for when this Error is returned.
