MRP Fails to populate using 2G pages ; failing Kernel ZONE Live migrations on S7 systems (SRU 11.4.68 - 11.4.71)
(Doc ID 3027977.1)
Last updated on JULY 25, 2024
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11.4 to 11.4 [Release 11.0]Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Symptoms
On S7 platforms following an upgrade to SRU 11.4.68 and reboot the following symptoms will be noticed:
The value of the svc:/system/memory-reserve:zones will show a 256MB page size (although the pagesize-policy is set as largest-available )
Changes
This issue occurs only on the S7 platforms (on SRU 11.4.68) as M/T-8s platforms do not support a 2GB page size for MRP.
The same issue can happen if MRP uses more than 80% of the total system's memory.
These conditions should be checked before going further.
