Uneven/Half Traffic Distribution in Session Agent Group using Round-Robin Strategy (Doc ID 3067165.1)

Symptoms

The SBC does not utilize all session agents in the session agent group (SAG). For a SAG containing 6 session agents (SAs), only 3 session agents are used, while the remaining 3 are not utilized.

Outbound traffic to the session agent group , say SAG_EXAMPLE (which contains 6 session agents: SA1-SA6) is not evenly distributed. Only 3 session agents handle the traffic at any time, and changing the order of session agents alters which 3 agents are used.

- Observed on two HA pairs of SBCs across different data centers.
- The RoundRobin strategy is configured in the session agent group.
- Deleting and recreating the session agent group did not resolve the issue.
