E-WAS: Is IBM PK63273 for IBM WAS 5.1 IHS server supported?

Sockets remain in CLOSE_WAIT status and are not released.

The only recourse was to restart WAS, but this increased to every two hours and the connection pool was reaching its maximum. Customer attempted to increase their timeout setting, but that did not work.


The customer determined that the only way to address the excessive CLOSE_WAIT issue was to apply the iFix PK63273 given at the IBM page to resolve their CLOSE_WAIT issue:


After applying the patch the CLOSE_WAIT issue was resolved and the stats for IHS connections have gone way down, from the 300 to 400 and higher range, down to 20 and 30 connections.
