Enterprise Manager Grid or Cloud Control Management Agent 10g to 12c Upload Fails with Message: ERROR ssl: nzos_Handshake failed, ret=29024 (Doc ID 1444572.1)

Symptoms

Agent has been secured with a SSL certificate issued by a 3rd party Certificate Authority using the steps in <Note 1593183.1> or <Note 1357140.1>(Pre-12c Agent).

The Agent starts up fine but is unable to upload to the OMS:

cd <AGENT_HOME>/bin
./emctl upload agent
