EM12c: How to Identify the OMS to Which the Console Connection is being routed to by the Server Load Balancer(SLB)? (Doc ID 1621589.1)

Last updated on JULY 16, 2021

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 12.1.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

A multi-OMS setup has been configured with a third party Server Load Balancer (SLB) such as F5 Big IP, CISCO ACE etc.

When multiple users access the SLB Console URL( for example: https://<SLB_HOSTNAME>:<SLB_CONSOLE_PORT>/em) from browsers, the SLB should route the Console connections equally to all the active OMS in a round Robin fashion to ensure that the Load is equally distributed among all the OMS.

This document provides the steps for identifying the OMS to which the console connection is being routed to in order to verify that the Load Balancing is happening correctly.
