Symptoms

Agent shown unreachable on console

Availability marker shows in 'future' date

SQL>SELECT a.target_guid, t.entity_name agent_name, TO_CHAR(a.marker_timestamp,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') marker, TO_CHAR(p.max_partition,'DD-MON-YYYY') max_partition
FROM   mgmt_availability_marker a, em_manageable_entities t, (SELECT MAX(TO_DATE(partition_name,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI')) max_partition FROM   user_tab_partitions
        WHERE  table_name      = 'EM_METRIC_VALUES'  AND  partition_name != 'MAX_VALUE') p
WHERE  a.marker_timestamp > p.max_partition+1
  AND  a.target_guid      = t.entity_guid
  AND  t.entity_type      = 'oracle_emd'  -- Agent
  AND  t.manage_status    = 2             -- Managed
  AND  t.broken_reason    = 0             -- Not broken
ORDER BY agent_name;

From above query 'Availability Marker' Timestamp shows future date '29-AUG-2060'  which too far , so any upload/severity comes lowere than this timestamp will be ignored.  Hence Agent is marked unreachable.

SQL> select t.target_name, t.target_type,  decode (am.marker_avail_status, 0, 'down', 1, 'up',2, 'metricerror',3, 'agentdown',4, 'unreachable',5, 'blackout',6, 'unknown') "CurrentStatus", am.marker_timestamp from mgmt_targets t, mgmt_availability_markeram where t.target_guid = am.target_guid  and t.target_name like ('<AGENT_NAME>')  and t.target_type like ('oracle_emd')  order by am.marker_timestamp;
