Metric Generic Alert Log Error Status not cleared automatically (Doc ID 1969815.1)

Symptoms

The Generic Alert Log Error Metric is triggered for an ORA error in the alert.log and manually cleared but the Generic Alert Log Error Status did not clear from the console.  This had to be manually cleared by running:
