EM 13c: Exclusion Filter for Category Not Working as Expected in Enterprise Manager 13c Cloud Control Incident Rule (Doc ID 2347238.1)

Enterprise Manager (EM) 13.2.0.0.0 Cloud Control 13.2.0.0.0
Incidents

In the EM 13.2 Cloud Control Incident Rules set up, the "Not in" filter in the Advanced Selection Options (in Rule Edit) is not filtering the selected events by the terms of the configuration, raising incidents and sending notifications for the excluded category events.

For instance, accessing the Rule Edit:

Navigate: System > Incidents > Incident Rules > [expand rule set and highlight a rule] > [select Edit]

Under Advanced Selection Options, the Category box is checked, the "Not in" option is selected from the first Category drop down menu and options such as Diagnostics, Fault, Security may be selected from the second drop down menu (check boxes).

Incidents will still be generated for the metrics associated with the "Not in" selections.


For instance, here is an example of a rule configuration that excludes notification on Security incidents:

 

 

However, this incident is generated as a result of monitoring, even with this exclusion in effect:
